Back-Raked Mechanical Screens
Back-raked mechanical screens are utilised in medium- to small-scale plants with relatively narrow channel width, where other mechanical screens will cause loss of space. If required, they can be operated in deep channels. Screen openings can be 4 mm or larger.
This type of screens can be utilised in domestic and industrial wastewater treatment plants, water treatment plants, and process water preparation plants for various industries.
The equipment consists of a screen mounted to the channel base at an angle of approximately 700 -750 and rakes mounted on a chain at regular intervals, which clean the screen in vertical direction. The chain is driven by an electric reducer and makes a continuous motion, and the rakes mounted on the chain collect the screenings accumulated on the screens and carry them up to discharge level.
